Welcome! If you are reading this, then you have been invited to play and/or practice with Double Down because we want you here! Please remember that you are a guest. That’s why we are providing you some rules and expectations that we all play by.
**There is a zero tolerance policy for failure to abide by the rules following. Failure to comply will result in that person being requested to leave the field and subsequent play for the rest of the day.**
1. Follow the rules of the field you are playing on.
Field rules are our minimum. Double Down may require stricter rules.
2. Anyone shooting at wildlife will be immediately and permanently banned from playing with Double Down.
Remember, the wildlife has more of a right to the field than you do.
3. Goggles will be on any time that you are not in the predisignated safe zone.
Safety is VERY important to the team, and nothing protects you more than your goggles.
4. No shooting into or out of the safe zones, and all players are required to have barrel plugs in their markers or barrel condoms on their muzzle breaks at all times in the safe areas.
Once again: SAFETY. If masks are off, plugs and condoms are on! Some of us have already been injured because people filed to follow this rule!
5. Double Down reserves the right to approve or deny any item a player brings to play with us, such as but not limited to paint, smoke bombs, paint grenades; even if it is acceptable by field standards.
If the team thinks that something in your gear is unsafe, we will not allow it to be used when playing with us.
6. Rules and decisions are NOT to be disputed during a game. Rules are to be debated BEFORE, and calls can be disputed AFTER the game.
This is to help keep stress levels down. We have all seen too many fights break out because of these problems; and there's no room for trouble m
7. There is no shooting into or out of spawn/reinsertion points.
Accidental shots are different, but "camping" on the reinsertion points or shooting eliminated players is not good sportsmanship.
8. Once a player has called hit and has their marker or hand noticeably risen, they may no longer be shot at.
Again, accidental shots are different, but intentionally shooting eliminated players is poor sportsmanship.
9. Any player who says the word "hit" (even in the context of, 'check your hopper, you're hit!') is eliminated, whether they have been marked or not.
This is the standard in all types of paintball, and taken very seriously with Double Down.
10. Any player who crosses the rope-line out of the field being played on is eliminated for the rest of the game, regardless of if they have reinsertions remaining.
Leaving the marked boundaries of a game is not good sportsmanship.
11. Players are expected to maintain good sportsmanship at all times.
If you have any questions about conduct, ask a team member.
12. No blind shooting is allowed. You must always look were you shoot.
This is for safety above all else!
13. Whenever possible, players must give an opponent the option to surrender before shooting from inside 6 feet.
However, if the opponent turns to point their marker at you, however, they are free game.
14. Dead men tell no tales.
If you are hit, you may not say anything other than the word “hit”.
15. Abusive language will not be tolerated.
There is never an appropriate time to use abusive language.
